Hart Fisher Smith & Associates is a full-service architectural, programming and planning design firm founded in 1994. The principals, David Harris Hart, Robert S. Fisher, and Barry Smith, have organized a team of individuals dedicated to serving civic/municipal and education clients through five main principles: client orientation, specialization, collaboration, design sensitivity and client satisfaction. Through these principles, HFS devotes the firm’s attention to providing clients with the highest quality services in the industry. Through the collaboration of all HFS team members and with the involvement of the client, our firm is able to develop a unified vision. Collectively we have selected civic, municipal and education projects as the type of architecture we wish to pursue, so each of our team members is dedicated to these projects. We truly enjoy working with our clients, discovering their needs, and finding the correct design solutions! Hart Fisher Smith’s initial projects include the Brigham Young University Smith Fieldhouse Renovation and the Health Benefits America Corporate Campus. Our current efforts include new libraries for American Fork City and Morgan County, headquarters for the State Office of Workforce Services and the High Tech Education Center for Salt Lake Community College on the new Jordan Campus. Each of our principals works individually with our clients in a specialized manner. David Hart, AIA, brings award-winning design expertise to our projects, with over 15 years international experience. Robert Fisher, AIA, has excelled in management and financial issues during his 15 years working with both large and small firms. Mr. Barry Smith, AIA, adds his technical expertise of over 18 years, rounding out the strengths of the principals. HFS is currently staffed with 20 employees, including professional architects, intern architects, CAD draftspersons and administrative team members. Design Philosophy: Hart Fisher Smith & Associates is a collaborative architectural, programming, and planning practice. The firm’s emphasis on sharing ideas is a central focus in the identification and discovery of design opportunities. On each project there is one individual who is ultimately responsible as principal in charge, however, each staff member is involved in every project. As a result, each project benefits from the shared wisdom and experiences of many individuals and their talents within the firm. The structure of the firm is open and is built around the project, thereby allowing the client to have on-going and consistent communication with the design team and its leadership. This is possible because the key people remain with the project from start to finish, thereby providing the design team with a "project memory" which anchors and ensures that certain main themes and concepts continue to grow and develop as the project evolves. Hart Fisher Smith & Associates is committed to the intimate and continuous involvement of the client in the design of the project. We believe that the beauty of each project lies in three important areas:
Service Philosophy Our concept of service is accomplished through the development of solutions and strategies that first and foremost address the functional interior and exterior needs of the project. Together in a partnership with the client, the user, and the community, we search for creative solutions to meet both the tighter schedules and the ever-shrinking budget without compromising the delivery of a well functioning facility. Providing this level of uncompromising service is our highest priority. |
