UTAH STATE FAIR PARK MASTER PLAN Hart Fisher Smith & Associates were selected to develop the master plan for the Utah State Fairpark. Initial goals and objectives of the Fairpark were verbalized in their Mission Statement: "The Utah State Fairpark of today and the future will represent all 29 counties in a modern, year-round campus, oriented for use by families, conferences, and conventions. The goal is to provide a bridge from the past to the future, recognizing that our roots are in agriculture. Our governing values are to improve the existing campus as a gathering place for all, by providing convention and youth facilities and an enclosed arena for exhibitions, special events, and concerts, all in a beautiful park-like setting. We will improve the relationship with the surrounding neighborhoods by dealing with their concerns; i.e., parking, traffic, compatible events and elements, etc. The economic viability of the park will grow through marketing and the encouragement of private development."
